Amos

For three sins of the West, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath.

Your iphone, iplayer, ipod.

I, I, me, me

These have become your gods.

Coffee to go, food to go,

Convenience for impatience.

Value drink and value food

Pricy for some but not for you.

"Compare the market.com"

Lots of choices, what’s best? what’s cheapest?

Ignore the price paid by the world’s poorest.

You starve, cut, suck and pluck.

Fat free, sugar free, health free, no dignity.

Why? "Because your worth it",

But Is that all your worth?

It’s not what I had in mind when I formed you before birth.

"Please do not leave your luggage unattended"

But the homeless? those in debt? Leave them unattended?

Watch strangers on reality shows, watch their every move

Love to watch their foolishness, love to watch them lose

Photos of the famous walking their dogs

Falling out of taxis, falling our of clubs

Your fascination with observation.

"Vote now, you decide, calls cost just 50p!"

But don’t respond to child trafficking,

You’re trapped in apathy.

Live for the weekend!

Drink through the weekend,

Units, bottles, pints and shots.

Drown your insecurity, boredom, lack of self-worth, the lot.

Your shallow, empty, cheap sex.

Crave attention and affirmation.

Trying to be richer,

Trying to be happier.

Dismissing me as some fictional character.

Seek good, not evil and you may live

Turn to me and I will forgive

Seek me and you'll be found

I can turn this nation around

"Let justice roll on like a river,

righteousness like a never ending stream"

Love me,

                             Love each other,

                                                       Love yourselves.

This should be your defining theme.
