Triumph Unfolding
I've been singing the chorus
"Take courage my heart,
Stay steadfast my soul
He's in the waiting, He's in the waiting.
Hold onto your hope, as your triumph unfolds
He's never failing, He's never failing"
I wonder for how many people that line about triumph feels like a sticking point? How many people never see the triumph they hoped for? What can triumph look like? Can we miss it?
What a triumph it will be for his blood tests to come back normal
What a triumph it will be for him to pink up and plump up
What a triumph it will be for him to get his taste back
What a triumph it will be for him to be able to cycle to and from work or play football
What a triumph it will be to manage full, productive, life giving days at work
What a triumph it will be for him to have energy to play with the kids
What a triumph it will be for the surgeons to open him up to transplant, only to find a perfectly healthy liver (although I'm sure God wouldn't want the organ to go to waste)
What a triumph it will be to surprise the medics and surgeons
What a triumph it will be for our marriage to go from strength to strength
What a triumph it will be for our community to come together and rally round us
What a triumph it will be for our faith to grow in testing
What a triumph it will be to pray continuously and persevere without growing faint-hearted
What a triumph it will be to love God more somehow and to worship Him and give thanks to Him in all things
What a triumph it will be to be more intimate with Him
What a triumph it will be to teach our children about the unchanging goodness and faithfulness of God
What a triumph it will be to watch them trust Him and put their hope in Him
What a triumph it will be to be able to say God's grace is totally and utterly sufficient for us
Wow! What a triumph it will be
I can't wait to see what triumph unfolds
You are a triumphant God.
